I will continue to repeat that Donald Trump<\/a> was not my first choice for President. However, he will become my first choice if he wins the Republican nomination (which I believe he will). I am not unique in the fact that I am planning to cast my vote<\/a> in November against Hillary Clinton (four more years of President Obama<\/a>) regardless of who the Republican nominee is (there are a few exceptions to that based on any shenanigans the establishment Republicans may pull at the convention). Evidently I am not the only person feeling that way.<\/p>\n

A website called ETFNews<\/a> posted an article yesterday quoting Ambassador John Bolton<\/a> on the presidential race.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe this is a binary choice,\u201d Bolton\u00a0said. \u201cThe next president will either be Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, unless Hillary gets indicted<\/a>. Talk about a third-party candidate<\/a>, I think, is badly misplaced. The idea of not voting at all is no better because, functionally, that\u2019s a vote for Hillary. And it may have a really harmful effect on Senate<\/a> and House<\/a> races where Republicans are going to be fighting hard to maintain control.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bolton said the issue is of utmost importance because Hillary would give us at least another four years of Obama\u2019s defeatist foreign policy<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cHillary is extremely happy with the Obama foreign policy<\/a>. It\u2019s almost an urban legend now that somehow she would be tougher, more hawkish (than Obama). I really don\u2019t see that,\u201d Bolton said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ambassador Bolton is a man who has served at the highest levels of government and knows the people involved. All of us need to listen to him.<\/p>\n

The article further reports:<\/p>\n

Bolton, President George W. Bush\u2019s<\/a> ambassador to the United Nations<\/a> from 2005 to 2006, had held out on endorsing anyone during the nomination fight, while saying he\u00a0would\u00a0support\u00a0the Republican nominee. Reports say that he briefly considered running himself, although from his remarks he\u2019s clearly given up that ghost.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He still has reservations about Trump, but says that they\u2019re nowhere near as huge as the doubts\u00a0he has about Hillary and her continuation of Obama\u2019s foreign policy mistakes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s also important to demonstrate that Trump can can fulfill the most important job of the presidency, which is keeping the country safe,\u201d Bolton said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, the economy\u2019s important. There\u2019s a lot of important issues, but if the country\u2019s not safe, everything else is secondary.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
