Fleming and Hayes<\/a> reported yesterday on a ruling by 13th Circuit Court Judge Richard A. Nielson that a civil suit between the “Islamic Education Center of Tampa” and four of it`s trusties be settled, not in a court of law, but under “Ecclesiastical Islamic Law”<\/strong>.  Just for the record, Ecclesiastical Islamic Law is Sharia Law.<\/p>\n

Lest you think Sharia Law is ok, here are a few of its tenants (via an American Thinker<\/a> article from August 2005).<\/p>\n

Commands that drinkers and gamblers by whipped.<\/p>\n

Allows wife beating, even for such things as ‘highhandedness.’<\/p>\n

Allows for ‘an eye for an eye’ as legal revenge.<\/p>\n

Requires hands of those who steal to be cut off.<\/p>\n

Highway robbers should be crucified or mutilated.<\/p>\n

Homosexuals should be executed.<\/p>\n

Orders unmarried fornicators to be whipped and adulterers to be stoned to death.<\/p>\n

Orders death for Muslims (and possible death for non-Muslims) who criticize Mohammad, the Quran, and Sharia.<\/p>\n

Orders the killing of apostates.<\/p>\n

Commands aggressive and offensive jihad.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It is obvious from reading the above (follow the link to the American Thinker to get details on each point) that Sharia Law is not compatible with American law.  To introduce Sharia Law (and set a precedent) is dangerous to the freedom of Americans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
