{"id":27512,"date":"2016-02-03T13:48:28","date_gmt":"2016-02-03T18:48:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=27512"},"modified":"2016-02-03T13:48:28","modified_gmt":"2016-02-03T18:48:28","slug":"can-we-please-move-on-to-other-things","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=27512","title":{"rendered":"Can We Please Move On To Other Things"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday <a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2016\/02\/02\/illinois-board-of-elections-cruz-is-a-natural-born-citizen\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Daily Caller<\/a> reported that the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Illinois\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=40.0,-89.0&amp;spn=3.0,3.0&amp;q=40.0,-89.0 (Illinois)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Illinois<\/a> Board of Elections has ruled that <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Ted Cruz\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tedcruz.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Ted Cruz<\/a> is a &#8220;<a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Natural-born-citizen clause\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Natural-born-citizen_clause\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">natural born citizen<\/a>&#8221; of <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667 (United%20States)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">America<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u201c<a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"The Candidate\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Candidate-Robert-Redford\/dp\/6304696507%3FSubscriptionId%3D0G81C5DAZ03ZR9WH9X82%26tag%3Dzem-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3D6304696507\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"amazon\">The Candidate<\/a> is a natural born citizen by virtue of being born in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Canada\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=45.4,-75.6666666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=45.4,-75.6666666667 (Canada)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Canada<\/a> to his mother who was a U.S. citizen at the time of his birth,\u201d the board stated, saying that Cruz\u00a0\u201cdid not have to take any steps or go through a naturalization process at some point after birth,\u201d adding, \u201cFurther discussion on this issue is unnecessary.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That does make sense (although legal decisions do not always make sense). Ted Cruz did not have to take steps to become an <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Citizenship in the United States\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Citizenship_in_the_United_States\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">American citizen<\/a> because he already was one. I also suspect his <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Conscription\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Conscription\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">draft card<\/a>, <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Social Security number\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Social_Security_number\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">social security number<\/a>, etc. actually reflect places he was living at that time. I also suspect that at some point we will have access to his college records.
