The Washington Free Beacon<\/a> posted an article today about a new labeling requirement enacted by the Obama Administration.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

A memo issued earlier this month by the Obama administration directs the U.S. \u201ctrade community\u201d and government partner agencies to explicitly label Israeli-made goods that have been produced in the West Bank.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Jan. 23 directive<\/a> states that it is \u201cnot acceptable\u201d to label goods coming from Israeli companies in the West Bank and Gaza Strip<\/a> as having been produced in \u201cIsrael<\/a>.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The area that President Obama<\/a> refers to as the West Bank is part of Israel. In an article<\/a> I posted in April of 2011, I explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth the <\/em><\/span>New York Times<\/em><\/span><\/a> and the <\/em><\/span>Washington Post<\/em><\/span><\/a>, in their April 22 editions, report that a group of prominent Israeli leftist intellectuals demonstrated in Tel Aviv in support of a Palestinian state based on the \u201c1967 borders.\u201d\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

…\u201cCompounding this lie, the Times and the Post also erase from actual history the fact that during Jordan\u2019s illegal 1949-67 occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem<\/a>, including the entire Old City\u00a0of Jerusalem<\/a>, Jews were barred from Judaism\u2019s holiest sites \u2014 the Western Wall<\/a>, Temple<\/span><\/u><\/span> Mount and Hebron\u2019s Cave of the Patriarchs.\u00a0\u00a0 A return to the 1967 line would deal Jews a similar fate.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n

\u201cThe truth, so lacking in the Times and the Post, is that Israel still awaits an eastern \u201cborder\u201d that can and will be fixed only as part of a final resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict<\/a>\u00a0, as mandated by the UN Security<\/span><\/u><\/span> Council in Resolution 242.\u00a0\u00a0In the meantime, history\u00a0and Arab aggression \u00a0have\u00a0 swept away the 1949 armistice line and, notwithstanding the lie perpetuated by the Times\u2019 Isabel Kershner and the Post\u2019s Joel Greenberg, a \u201cborder\u201d\u00a0still\u00a0remains an elusive quest that has yet to reach its\u00a0\u00a0final destination.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I need to explain that Palestine was the name the British gave to Israel. There never was a Palestinian state. I really think Israel has made enough land concessions. The land Israel has not brought peace, it has simply provided additional launching pads for Hamas to launch rockets at Israeli civilians.
