Fox News<\/a> reported today that today is the day that Iran officially takes its place on the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.  Iran, you know, that country that will arrest and beat a woman for a fashion violation.  Not a single UN member (including the United States) has objected.  Meanwhile, on March 2, ibnlive.in.com<\/a> reported that “The United Nations General Assembly has unanimously voted to suspend Libya from the UN Human Rights Council in the wake of continuing attacks on pro-democracy protesters there by Muammar Gaddafi’s regime.”  I guess I need someone to explain to me what the difference between the way Iran treats protestors and the way Libya treats protestors.  Admittedly, Iran doesn’t use planes, it shoots people down in the streets, but that seems a rather unimportant distinction.<\/p>\n
