Jim Geraghty<\/a> posted an article in The Corner<\/a> at National Review<\/a> today about the situation in Afghanistan<\/a> and Iraq<\/a>. In the article he reminds us that CNN<\/a> reported the following:<\/p>\n

During a National Security Council<\/a> meeting held at the Pentagon on Dec. 14, President Barack Obama<\/a> told top military officials and other officials he wanted to see a better job of having the so-called \u201cnarrative\u201d of the war on ISIS communicated to the American<\/a> people, a senior defense official told CNN.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Communication is not the problem.<\/p>\n

A German journalist who spent 10 days with Islamic State says that the radical jihadist group that has captured wide swaths of Syria and Iraq is deterred by only one Middle Eastern country \u2013 Israel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an interview with the British Jewish News, Jurgen Todenhofer recalls his brief time behind enemy lines during which he spoke with ISIS fighters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe only country ISIS fears is Israel,\u201d Todenhofer, a former member of the German parliament<\/a>, told Jewish News. \u201cThey told me they know the Israeli army<\/a> is too strong for them.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The writer said that ISIS wants to lure British and American forces into Syria and Iraq, areas where it thinks it has an advantage.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThey think they can defeat US and UK ground troops, who they say they have no experience in city guerrilla or terrorist strategies,\u201d he told Jewish News. \u201cBut they know the Israelis are very tough as far as fighting against guerrillas and terrorists.<\/strong><\/p>\n
