{"id":2722,"date":"2011-02-27T16:20:01","date_gmt":"2011-02-27T16:20:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=2722"},"modified":"2011-09-13T07:04:57","modified_gmt":"2011-09-13T11:04:57","slug":"economic_growth_in_brazil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=2722","title":{"rendered":"Economic Growth In Brazil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanthinker.com\/2011\/02\/welcome_to_brazil_lessons_for.html\">American Thinker<\/a>\u00a0posted an article about the economy of Brazil.\u00a0 Why in the world should we care about the economy in Brazil?\u00a0 Well, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton cited that economy as a good example to follow&#8211;3-6% economic growth recently and a place on the world stage with the World Cup Soccer games and the 2016 Olympic Games.\u00a0 Sounds good, but that&#8217;s not the whole picture.<\/p>\n<p>The article at American Thinker reports:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"margin-right: 0px;\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: small;\"><em>&#8220;Brazil&#8217;s economy actually is growing at a superheated pace, this much is true.\u00a0 It is the B in the BRIC )Brazil, Russia, India, and China), which together seems to have a controlling destiny in the world economy.\u00a0 After generations of misrule and flirtations with Communism, Brazil seems to have its legs beneath her.\u00a0 The currency is finally stable (with interest rates, however, from 14% and upward) and taxes now just onerous rather than impossible.\u00a0 There exists a growing middle class and considerable upward mobility that never really existed before.\u00a0 The problem is that Brazil still cannot shake its pinko roots.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: small;\"><em>&#8220;Politicians in Brazil promise everything to everybody.\u00a0 Its astronomically popular recent president Lula was the original community organizer.\u00a0 What kind of promises?
