Top Right News <\/a>posted a story today about the wonderfully warm weather we are having this Christmas. I never thought weather would get political, but that’s where we are now.<\/p>\n

The article includes the following quote:<\/p>\n

Science advocate Bill Nye<\/a> explained on Tuesday that many parts of the United States<\/a> were expected to see record temperatures over the Christmas holiday<\/a> because of weather patterns associated with climate change.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But Nye chastised\u00a0meteorologists for\u00a0refusing to utter the words \u201cclimate change\u201d to their viewers.\u00a0\u201cWe have a situation where no one in regular television will say the phrase \u2018climate change,\u2019\u201d Nye declared, calling out MSNBC<\/a> meteorologists by name. \u201cNobody will mention this phrase. But the world\u2019s getting warmer!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Facts are inconvenient things. The article also includes the following quote from Real Science<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Christmas Eve<\/a> 1955 was much warmer. Three fourths of\u00a0the country was over 60 degrees, and Ashland Kansas, \u00a0Geary Oklahoma and Encinal Texas were all over 90 degrees. Fort Lauderdale<\/a> was 85 degrees. All of the stations below were over 60 degrees on Christmas Eve, 1955.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last winter, the East Coast had record cold. That was ignored because it was \u201cless than 1% of the Earth<\/a>.\u201d \u00a0But this week, the Eastern US defines the global climate<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Irving Berlin<\/a>\u2019s 1954 musical \u201cWhite Christmas\u201d \u2013 the story line was 70 degrees in Vermont<\/a>\u00a0on Christmas eve and no snow. That was\u00a0why they\u00a0were \u201cDreaming of a White Christmas\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The article at Top Right News notes that in 1955 the greenhouse gases were 80 percent lower than in 2015. So what caused the warm temperatures then?<\/p>\n
