Hinderaker\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_H._Hinderaker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">John Hinderaker<\/a> posted an article at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.powerlineblog.com\/archives\/2015\/11\/the-ap-on-yesterdays-election-results-its-a-tie.php\" target=\"_blank\">Power Line<\/a> about Tuesday&#8217;s election results. The article notes some of the results:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Matt Bevin was elected <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Governor of Kentucky\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Governor_of_Kentucky\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Governor of Kentucky<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Republicans maintained the majority in the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Senate of Virginia\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=37.5389722222,-77.4338055556&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=37.5389722222,-77.4338055556 (Senate%20of%20Virginia)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Virginia Senate<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Ohio rejected a proposal to legalize marijuana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The Sheriff of <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"San Francisco\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=37.7833333333,-122.416666667&amp;spn=0.1,0.1&amp;q=37.7833333333,-122.416666667 (San%20Francisco)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">San Francisco<\/a>, who supported the &#8216;sanctuary city&#8217; was defeated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Houston voters rejected an initiative claiming to be non-discriminatory that discriminated against Christians.<\/p>\n<p>There are some happy conservatives around the country right now. However, the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Associated Press\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ap.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Associated Press (AP)<\/a> did not see it that way.<\/p>\n<p>The article at Power Line reports some of the comments from AP about the election:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>State and local elections across the country this week produced warning signs for both Democrats and Republicans as they press toward next year\u2019s presidential contest.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u2026Democrats lost ground in state legislatures and governor\u2019s mansions, raising questions about the party\u2019s strength when <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Barack Obama\" href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Barack Obama\u2019s<\/a> name isn\u2019t on the ballot.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u2026And in Kentucky, Republican Matt Bevin\u2019s win for the governorship could be a sign that many voters are serious about electing outsider candidates.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u2026That sounds good for the GOP, whose leading presidential candidates are <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Donald Trump\" href=\"http:\/\/www.trumponline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Donald Trump<\/a> and <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Ben Carson\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ben_Carson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Ben Carson<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u2026But Democrats still have important demographic advantages in the states that often determine presidential elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u2026And Republican leaders are skeptical that outsiders\u2019 rebellious appeal will be sufficiently deep and lasting to send such a candidate to the White House.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article at Power Line mentions one inconvenient fact:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The AP fails to mention that the Obama administration has been a disaster for the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Democratic Party (United States)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.democrats.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Democratic Party<\/a>. President Obama is widely seen as both incompetent and outside the mainstream of American politics. This has largely driven the flight of voters to the GOP, not only in the House and Senate, both now under Republican control, but also in state offices across the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The conclusion:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong> It is remarkable how far the press will go to cover for the Democrats, even after ballots have been cast. But does it do the Democrats much good? On the evidence of the last five years, the answer is no.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At some point, the American voters are quite capable of looking past the hype and seeing the impact of eight years of President Obama. The next President will have to reconstruct both our economy and our healthcare system.
