Mark Steyn, international best-selling author and human rights activist, will speak on “Relighting The Lamps of Liberty: Standing Up For Freedom in a Darkening World,” at Ahavath Torah Congregation, 1179 Central Street, Stoughton, MA on Thursday, February 24th at 7:30 PM.   Steyn’s book America Alone: The End of The World as We Know It<\/span><\/a><\/i> was a bestseller in the United States and Canada.  In his new book Lights Out: Islam, Free Speech and the Twilight of The West<\/span><\/a><\/i> he discusses his legendary battle with Canada’s Human Rights Commission. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Steyn is a visiting fellow at Hillsdale College<\/span><\/a>, a popular guest host of America’s number <\/i>one radio show, The Rush Limbaugh Program<\/span><\/a>, and of the popular cable show Hannity<\/span><\/a>.  <\/span>Steyn’s writing on politics, arts and culture is published regularly throughout the English-speaking world.<\/span>  <\/span>In the US his column appears in newspapers including The Washington Times<\/span><\/a>, The Philadelphia Bulletin<\/span><\/a>, The Orange County Register<\/span><\/a> in California,  <\/span><\/span>Investors’ Business Daily and <\/span>The Wall Street Journal<\/span><\/a>.  <\/span>He also writes for The New Criterion<\/span><\/a> and National Review<\/span><\/a>.  <\/span>In Canada Steyn is a contributing editor to Maclean’s<\/span><\/a>, the Dominion’s oldest and biggest-selling news weekly.  His writing also appears in The Jerusalem Post<\/span><\/a>, the Middle East’s leading English-language daily; The Australian<\/span><\/a>, Australia’s national newspaper; Investigate<\/span><\/a> and Hawke’s Bay Today<\/span><\/a> in New Zealand; and, in Italy, Il Foglio<\/span><\/a> (in translation).  <\/span>Steyn also appears weekly on The Hugh Hewitt Radio Show<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
