As you can see by the small print, the numbers came from\u00a0the Pew Research Center<\/a>, and the chart was produced by the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration<\/a> and the National Interest.<\/p>\n

We are on a course that will radically transform the United States of America<\/a>, a course that we have never voted for. Can this radical transformation be averted? Not as long as our politicians talk only about illegal immigration, which is a small part of the issue. Existing laws<\/a> will make the U.S., already the world\u2019s third most populous country, much more like China<\/a> and India<\/a>, and much less like Switzerland<\/a> and Japan<\/a>. Isn\u2019t it obvious that this is not the direction in which we should be going?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We need legal immigration, but we need to make sure we are bringing in people who want to assimilate–not people who want to change our laws to create\u00a0the conditions they are fleeing. America is an idea. It is up to us to protect that idea.<\/p>\n
