Donald Trump has not consistently espoused conservative principles and probably does not qualify as\u00a0a conservative in the minds of many of the conservative intellectuals. What Donald Trump represents is the anger of the conservatives at the miserable performance of the establishment Republicans in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Washington (state)\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=47.5,-120.5&amp;spn=3.0,3.0&amp;q=47.5,-120.5 (Washington%20%28state%29)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Washington<\/a>. The conservatives believed what they were told&#8211;elect Republicans and things will change&#8211;the debt will decrease, <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Patient_Protection_and_Affordable_Care_Act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">ObamaCare<\/a> will go away, and the Republicans will check the runaway executive orders of President Obama. Right. And I saw a flying pig last week.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday <a href=\"http:\/\/theconservativetreehouse.com\/2015\/09\/07\/an-open-letter-to-jonah-goldberg-re-the-gop-and-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Conservative Treehouse<\/a> posted an open letter to Jonah Goldberg, a conservative who is concerned that the Donald Trump candidacy will destroy the Republican party.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0article reminds us:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Angered (by the tricks used to pass ObamaCare), we rallied to the next election (November 2010) and handed the usurping <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Democratic Party (United States)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.democrats.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Democrats<\/a> the single largest electoral defeat in the prior 100 years.\u00a0 The House returned to Republican control, and one-half of the needed Senate seats reversed.\u00a0 Within the next two election cycles (\u201912 and \u201914) we again removed the Democrats from control of the Senate.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Within each of those three elections we were told Repealing Obamacare would be job #1.\u00a0 It was not an optional part of our representative agreement to do otherwise.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are still waiting.<\/p>\n<p>The article points out:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>We are not blind to the maneuverings of the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Chamber of Commerce\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uschamber.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">U.S. Chamber of Commerce<\/a> and President <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Tom Donohue\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tom_Donohue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Tom Donohue<\/a>.\u00a0 We are fully aware the repeal vote did not take place because the U.S. <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Corrosion of Conformity\" href=\"http:\/\/www.coc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">CoC<\/a> demanded the retention of Obamacare.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Leader <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Page McConnell\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pagemcconnell.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">McConnell<\/a> followed the legislative priority of Tom Donohue as opposed to the will of the people.\u00a0\u00a0 This was again exemplified with the passage of TPPA, another Republican construct which insured the Trans-Pacific Trade Deal could pass the Senate with 51 votes instead of 3\/5ths.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>We are not blind to the reality that when McConnell chooses to change the required <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Election threshold\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Election_threshold\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">voting threshold<\/a> he is apt to do so.\u00a0 Not coincidentally, the TPP trade deal is another legislative priority of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Again, the Republican party ignored the people who elected them.<\/p>\n<p>The article cites the Iran deal:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Another bill, the Iran \u201cagreement\u201d, reportedly and conveniently not considered a \u201ctreaty\u201d, again we are not blind.\u00a0 Nor are we blind to Republican <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Bob Corker\" href=\"http:\/\/corker.senate.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Bob Corker<\/a>\u2019s amendment (<a href=\"http:\/\/thomas.loc.gov\/cgi-bin\/query\/z?c114:H.R.1191:\" target=\"_blank\">Corker\/Cardin Amendment<\/a>) changing ratification to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commentarymagazine.com\/2015\/08\/26\/iran-deal-filibuster-bob-corker\/\" target=\"_blank\">67-vote-threshold for denial<\/a>, as opposed to a customary 67 vote threshold for passage.\u00a0 A profound difference.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The elected Republicans again ignored the wishes of the people who elected them.<\/p>\n<p>The article lists examples of the establishment GOP working against the will of the voters. It is eye-opening.<\/p>\n<p>The article concludes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The last federal budget was passed in September of 2007, and EVERY FLIPPING INSUFFERABLE YEAR\u00a0we have to go through the predictable fiasco of a Government Shutdown Standoff and\/or a\u00a0Debt Ceiling increase specifically because there is NO BUDGET!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>That\u2019s a strategy?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>That\u2019s the GOP strategy?\u00a0 Essentially:\u00a0 <em>Lets plan for an annual battle against articulate Democrats and Presidential charm, using a creepy guy who cries and another old mumbling fool who dodders, knowing full well the MSM is on the side of the other guy to begin with?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>THAT\u2019S YOUR GOP STRATEGY?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Don\u2019t tell me it\u2019s not, because if it wasn\u2019t there\u2019d be something else being done \u2013 there isn\u2019t.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>And don\u2019t think we don\u2019t know the 2009 \u201cstimulus\u201d became embedded in the baseline of the federal spending, and absent of an actual budget it just gets spent and added to the deficit each year, every year.\u00a0 Yet this is somehow smaller fiscal government?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u2026.And <a href=\"http:\/\/link.nationalreview.com\/view\/547fb90c3b35d0210c8cc59030z2e.6qgh\/55f9c304\" target=\"_blank\">you\u2019re worried<\/a> about what Donald Trump might do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Seriously?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I truly believe that this article expresses the frustration of the conservatives in the Republican party. Right now there is very little difference between the establishment Republicans and the Democrats. If the establishment Republicans don&#8217;t wake up soon, there will be two political parties&#8211;the Democrats and the Conservatives.
