Bob Corker<\/a>\u2019s (R-TN) bill demanding <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Congress\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8897222222,-77.0088888889&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=38.8897222222,-77.0088888889 (United%20States%20Congress)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Congress<\/a> get a vote on the merits of <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Barack Obama\" href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">President Obama\u2019s<\/a> nuclear deal with <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Iran\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=35.6833333333,51.4166666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=35.6833333333,51.4166666667 (Iran)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Iran<\/a>, in light of prominent Democrat <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Chuck Schumer\" href=\"http:\/\/schumer.senate.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Senator Chuck Schumer<\/a> (D-NY) supporting the bill this week.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Making it clear the bill can not \u201cinterfere\u201d with the president\u2019s deal, Kerry said \u201cif it\u2019s changed and adjusted and reflects the respect for the Constitution and the president\u2019s prerogatives,\u201d then Congress can vote.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span class=\"im\">Kerry said \u201cThe president is absolutely correct in making sure that what Congress does, does not assault presidential authority and the Constitution and doesn\u2019t destroy his ability to be able to negotiate this final deal. That\u2019s critical. And the president has said, if the bill is what it is today, written the same way it is today, then he\u2019d veto it.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So let me get this straight&#8211;if Congress passes a law to make sure its constitutional rights are protected, President Obama will veto it. The Constitution states clearly that two-thirds of the Senate must concur with a treaty in order for it to take effect.
