The question now is whether or not he will receive the death penalty.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p class=\"ap-story-p\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Tsarnaev folded his arms, fidgeted and looked down at the defense table as he listened to one <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Guilt (law)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Guilt_%28law%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">guilty verdict<\/a> after another on all 30 counts against him, including conspiracy and deadly use of a <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Weapon of mass destruction\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Weapon_of_mass_destruction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">weapon of mass destruction<\/a>. Seventeen of those counts are <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Capital punishment\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Capital_punishment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">punishable by death<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"ap-story-p\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The verdict &#8211; reached after a day and a half of deliberations &#8211; was practically a foregone conclusion, given his lawyer&#8217;s startling admission at the trial&#8217;s outset that Tsarnaev carried out the terror attack with his now-dead older brother, Tamerlan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"ap-story-p\"><span class=\"entry-content\">Tsarnaev<\/span>&#8216;s <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Criminal defense lawyer\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Criminal_defense_lawyer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">defense lawyer<\/a>, <span class=\"entry-content\"><a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Judy Clarke\" href=\"http:\/\/jcsrlaw.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Judy Clarke<\/a><\/span>, has argued that Tsarnaev, who was nineteen at the time of the bombing, committed the crime because he was under the influence of his older brother, <span class=\"entry-content\">Tamerlan<\/span>. That may be so, but it doesn&#8217;t excuse what he did. Tsarnaev had (and has) free choice in choosing his actions, and now he is being called to take responsibility for those actions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ap-story-p\">Whatever happens to Tsarnaev, the victims of the bombing will never be able to go back to where they were before the event&#8211;the loved ones will still be lost and the major injuries will still be there.
