The law is a mass of overregulation put in place after the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Financial crisis of 2007\u20132008\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Financial_crisis_of_2007%E2%80%932008\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">financial crisis of 2008<\/a> that actually does nothing related to the cause of the financial crisis of 2008. (If you still believe the mainstream media about the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Finance\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Finance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">financial<\/a> meltdown of 2008, I suggest you watch the this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?annotation_id=annotation_918789&amp;feature=iv&amp;src_vid=NU6fuFrdCJY&amp;v=1RZVw3no2A4\" target=\"_blank\">video<\/a>.) Dodd Frank is sheer legislative mush that accomplished nothing, written and sponsored by some of the people who caused the problem in the first place. Well, wait a minute, it actually did accomplish something.<\/p>\n<p>The Wall Street Journal reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Liberals like Sen. <a href=\"http:\/\/topics.wsj.com\/person\/W\/Elizabeth-Warren\/8131\"> Elizabeth Warren <\/a> (D., Mass.) are treating the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial law as holy writ because she says it punishes the big banks. But then why is <a href=\"http:\/\/topics.wsj.com\/person\/B\/Lloyd-Blankfein\/384\"> Lloyd Blankfein <\/a> so content? On Tuesday at an investor conference, the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Goldman Sachs\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gs.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Goldman Sachs<\/a> CEO explained how higher regulatory costs are crushing the competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u201cMore intense regulatory and technology requirements have raised the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Barriers to entry\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Barriers_to_entry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">barriers to entry<\/a> higher than at any other time in modern history,\u201d said Mr. Blankfein. \u201cThis is an expensive business to be in, if you don\u2019t have the market share in scale. Consider the numerous business exits that have been announced by our peers as they reassessed their competitive positioning and relative returns.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The real problem with overregulation is that it leads to crony capitalism.
