Representative Huelskamp has been in the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States House of Representatives\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8888888889,-77.0088888889&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=38.8888888889,-77.0088888889 (United%20States%20House%20of%20Representatives)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">House of Representatives<\/a> since 2010.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Now the new chairman of the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Tea Party Caucus\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tea_Party_Caucus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Tea Party Caucus<\/a>, one of several conservative enclaves being fortified, he (Representative <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Tim Huelskamp\" href=\"http:\/\/huelskamp.house.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Tim Huelskamp<\/a>) says, \u201cThis town does not listen.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>As for the controversial vote against the speaker this month, he admits \u201cit\u2019s a difficult vote that comes with a lot of intimidation.\u201d The chairman of the House Veterans Affairs committee, Florida Republican Rep. <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Jeff Miller\" href=\"http:\/\/www.crunchbase.com\/person\/jeff-miller-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"crunchbase\">Jeff Miller<\/a>, let Huelskamp know he was jeopardizing an expected subcommittee chairmanship by announcing his intentions to not vote for <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"John Boehner\" href=\"http:\/\/www.speaker.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Boehner<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Defiant, Huelskamp stood resolute against the threats and pressure tactics, as leadership punished Huelskamp last <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Congress\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8897222222,-77.0088888889&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=38.8897222222,-77.0088888889 (United%20States%20Congress)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Congress<\/a> for <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Voting\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Voting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">voting<\/a> his conscience by stripping him of two committees. For Huelskamp, the lame duck CRomnibus was among the clues that this Republican leadership was not inclined to stand up to President Obama on principle. \u201cThey weren\u2019t going to push conservative principles. They, actually, were pushing back against conservatives!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Right now, Washington is not listening. The only way they are going to listen is if more Americans get involved. We need to send the emails, make the phone calls, and vote out of office those politicians who do not listen. At the same time, we need to support those Senators and Representatives who are trying to do what they were elected to do.
