{"id":24664,"date":"2014-12-29T18:23:55","date_gmt":"2014-12-29T23:23:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=24664"},"modified":"2014-12-29T18:23:55","modified_gmt":"2014-12-29T23:23:55","slug":"the-law-of-unintended-consequences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=24664","title":{"rendered":"The Law Of Unintended Consequences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wish the people who make our <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Law\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">laws<\/a> would think through the impact of those laws before they pass them.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday <a href=\"http:\/\/dailysignal.com\/2014\/12\/28\/rocky-mountain-high-30-homeless-denver-shelter-came-marijuana\/?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=social\" target=\"_blank\">The Daily Signal<\/a> posted a story about one of the results of the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Legality of cannabis\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Legality_of_cannabis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">legalization of marijuana<\/a> use in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Colorado\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=39.0,-105.5&amp;spn=3.0,3.0&amp;q=39.0,-105.5 (Colorado)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Colorado<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>An informal survey of 500 people at a <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Denver\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=39.7391666667,-104.984722222&amp;spn=0.1,0.1&amp;q=39.7391666667,-104.984722222 (Denver)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Denver<\/a> <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Homeless shelter\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Homeless_shelter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">homeless shelter<\/a> reveals that 30 percent of new inhabitants\u00a0came to Colorado because of the state\u2019s legally available <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Cannabis (drug)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cannabis_%28drug%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">marijuana<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u201cThe older ones are coming for medical (marijuana), the younger ones are coming just because it\u2019s legal,\u201d Brett Van Sickle, director of Denver\u2019s <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"The Salvation Army\" href=\"http:\/\/www.salvationarmy.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Salvation Army<\/a> Crossroads Shelter, told the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aurorasentinel.com\/news\/denver-homeless-shelters-cite-legal-pot-homeless-upswing\/\">Associated Press<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>That particular shelter has\u00a0more than doubled its staff to care for the new out-of-towners.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What in the world are the benefits of this law?
