{"id":2427,"date":"2010-11-16T15:16:10","date_gmt":"2010-11-16T15:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=2427"},"modified":"2010-11-16T15:16:10","modified_gmt":"2010-11-16T15:16:10","slug":"government_is_not_the_solution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=2427","title":{"rendered":"Government Is Not The Solution To Our Problems, Government Is The Problem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theintelligencer.net\/page\/content.detail\/id\/548935\/Federal-Payroll-Beats-Private-Sector.html?nav=511\">Wheeling Intelligencer and News-Register<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;reported today that after the government declared that inflation was low enough not to increase social security benefits for senior citizens, the President is suggesting&nbsp;a 1.4 percent pay raise for 2.1 million federal workers.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>The article points out some basic facts about the government&#8217;s payroll:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<ul>\n<li>Civil servants on the federal payroll earned an average of $123,049, including benefits, in 2009, according to USA Today. That same year, average compensation for workers in the private sector, including benefits, was $61,051, reports the Bureau of Economic Analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The average federal salary has increased 33 percent faster than inflation during the past decade.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>During the past five years, the number of federal employees paid $150,000 or more a year has increased by more than 1,000 percent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The $150,000-plus category of employees makes up 3.9 percent of the federal workforce.
