I don&#8217;t question the need to put someone in charge of handling the spread of Ebola in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667 (United%20States)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">America<\/a>, but I do wonder about the appointment of Ron Klain.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Klain was one of the senior White House officials who advised that President Obama should visit solar power company <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Solyndra\" href=\"http:\/\/www.solyndra.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Solyndra<\/a> in 2011, despite\u00a0an auditor raising <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Red flag\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Red_flag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">red flags<\/a> about the company\u2019s finances. Mr. Klain has previously worked for <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Al Gore\" href=\"http:\/\/algore.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Vice-President Al Gore<\/a> as <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Chief of staff\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chief_of_staff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">chief of staff<\/a> and as <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Joe Biden\" href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/administration\/vice-president-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Vice-President Joe Biden<\/a> as chief of staff. Mr. Klain has no medical background.<\/p>\n<p>It seems that in keeping with the pattern that has developed in handling Ebola in America, the President has chosen someone to handle to political angles rather than the medical angles. I suspect that this choice means that the government will continue to make decisions that are politically expedient but do nothing to protect the lives of Americans from this deadly virus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Daily Caller reported today that President Obama has appointed Ron Klain, as White House Ebola response coordinator.
