{"id":23868,"date":"2014-09-16T22:30:08","date_gmt":"2014-09-17T02:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=23868"},"modified":"2014-09-16T22:30:08","modified_gmt":"2014-09-17T02:30:08","slug":"a-step-in-the-right-direction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=23868","title":{"rendered":"A Step In The Right Direction?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday the <a href=\"http:\/\/freebeacon.com\/issues\/controversial-dhs-adviser-let-go-amid-allegations-of-cover-up\/\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Free Beacon<\/a> posted an article about Mohamed Elibiary, who has left his position as a senior\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/homeland-security-advisory-council-members\">member<\/a>\u00a0of DHS\u2019 <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Homeland Security Advisory Council\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Homeland_Security_Advisory_Council\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Homeland Security Advisory Council<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/homeland-security-advisory-council-hsac\">HSAC<\/a>). Mr. Elibiary&#8217;s recent statement that about the \u201cinevitable\u201d return of the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Muslim\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Muslim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Muslim<\/a> \u201ccaliphate\u201d may have played a role in his departure.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2013, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org\/2013\/10\/06\/a-window-on-the-muslim-brotherhood-in-america-an-annotated-interview-with-dhs-advisor-mohamed-elibiary\/\" target=\"_blank\">Center for Security Policy<\/a> posted an article about Mohamed Elibiary.<\/p>\n<p>The article describes Mr. Elibiary&#8217;s role at the DHS:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Elibiary\u2019s official functions have been the focus of congressional and media attention, particularly in light of his controversial associations with leading <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667 (United%20States)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">American<\/a> <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Islamism\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Islamism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Islamists<\/a>.\u00a0 These include the radical Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America and convicted Hamas fundraiser Shukri Abu Baker.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Troubling as such connections are, the implications of the policies Elibiary has espoused are even more worrying.\u00a0 For example, Elibiary\u2019s promotion of the narrative that the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Muslim Brotherhood\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ikhwanonline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Muslim Brotherhood<\/a> and other Islamists are \u201cmoderates\u201d appears to have been influential in encouraging the Obama administration\u2019s blindness to what is, in fact, an unbroken continuum between the ideology and goals of the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Moreover, Elibiary has insisted that even the most basic information about the doctrinal drivers of jihadist terror be purged from U.S. government training materials. Pursuant to the guidance he has helped President Obama promulgate, even quoting the Brotherhood\u2019s own written statements can be portrayed as \u201cIslamophobia.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article includes a link to an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Elibiary-Occasional-Paper-1001.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">An Annotated Interview with DHS Advisor Mohamed Elibiary<\/a>, which explores some of his connections to the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development\" href=\"http:\/\/web.archive.org\/*\/http:\/\/www.hlf.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Holy Land Foundation<\/a> and the Muslim Brotherhood.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Elibiary has done considerable damage to the security of America. His purging of government training materials of valid information about the Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamic goals for America will take years (and a willing administration) to correct. The difference between the Muslim Brotherhood and <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Al-Qaeda\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Al-Qaeda\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">AlQaeda<\/a> is method&#8211;not goal. The Muslim Brotherhood uses the American judicial system to quietly bring the principles of <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Sharia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sharia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Sharia Law<\/a> into America; Al Qaeda simply wants to conquer by physical destruction. Sending Mr. Elibiary packing is a step in the right direction, but he should have never been allowed anywhere near the Department of Homeland Security&#8211;he has strong ties to people whose goal is the destruction of America.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday the Washington Free Beacon posted an article about Mohamed Elibiary, who has left his position as a senior\u00a0member\u00a0of DHS\u2019 Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC).
