{"id":23308,"date":"2014-07-14T11:59:51","date_gmt":"2014-07-14T15:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=23308"},"modified":"2014-07-14T11:59:51","modified_gmt":"2014-07-14T15:59:51","slug":"irony-at-its-best-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=23308","title":{"rendered":"Irony At Its Best"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.israelnationalnews.com\/News\/News.aspx\/182859#.U8P8vLFiPj5\" target=\"_blank\">Arutz Sheva<\/a> is reporting today that a <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Qassam rocket\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Qassam_rocket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Hamas rocket<\/a> fired at <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Israel\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=31.7833333333,35.2166666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=31.7833333333,35.2166666667 (Israel)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Israel<\/a> has knocked down a major power line that supplies <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Gaza\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=31.5166666667,34.45&amp;spn=0.1,0.1&amp;q=31.5166666667,34.45 (Gaza)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Gaza<\/a> with electricity.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>As Operation Protective Edge enters its seventh day, many <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Israelis\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Israelis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Israelis<\/a> are demanding that the country take more aggressive action against <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Hamas\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hamas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Hamas<\/a> in order to put a halt to the seemingly endless missile attacks from Gaza. One suggestion that has come up numerous times \u2013 including from MKs and Ministers like Deputy Defense Minister <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Danny Danon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dannydanon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Danny Danon<\/a> \u2013 is cutting off electricity to Gaza,which Israel is still supplying. The Hamas missile, which hit one of the high tension wires that move power from Israel to Gaza, apparently made that a moot point, at least partially.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Palestinian National Authority\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Palestinian_National_Authority\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Palestinian Authority<\/a> currently owes the Israel Electric Company NIS 1.5 billion ($525 million) in unpaid bills for electricity. An examination of that debt by business daily <em><a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Globes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.globes.co.il\/serveen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Globes<\/a><\/em> shows that the relative amount owed by Gaza was NIS 220 million ($62 million).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Last month, the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"International Electrotechnical Commission\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/International_Electrotechnical_Commission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">IEC<\/a> filed a petition with the High Court demanding to be allowed to shut off electricity to the Palestinian Authority until <span id=\"IL_AD4\" class=\"IL_AD\">the debt<\/span> was paid \u2013 or to allow the IEC to seize customs and aid <span id=\"IL_AD2\" class=\"IL_AD\">payments<\/span> collected on behalf of the PA to pay off its debt.
