There were a few incidents during the visit that simply were not friendly to the Jewish state and its heritage.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>In one of his blander pronouncements during the papal visit, <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Benjamin Netanyahu\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Benjamin_Netanyahu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Netanyahu<\/a> mentioned on Monday that <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Jesus\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jesus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Jesus<\/a> spoke <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Hebrew language\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hebrew_language\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Hebrew<\/a>.\u00a0There was nothing incorrect about Netanyahu\u2019s statement. Jesus was after all, an Israeli Jew.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> But Francis couldn\u2019t take the truth. So he indelicately interrupted his host, interjecting, \u201cAramaic.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Netanyahu was probably flustered. True, at the time, educated Jews spoke and wrote in Aramaic. And Jesus was educated. But the language of the people was Hebrew. And Jesus preached to the people, in Hebrew.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Netanyahu responded, \u201cHe spoke Aramaic, but he knew Hebrew.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Reuters\u2019 write-up of the incident tried to explain away the pope\u2019s rudeness and historical revisionism, asserting, \u201cModern-day discourse about Jesus is complicated and often political.\u201d The report went on to delicately mention, \u201cPalestinians sometimes describe Jesus as a Palestinian. Israelis object to that.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Israelis \u201cobject to that\u201d because it is a lie.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It seems like a minor point, but it is not. Jesus was Jewish. Period.<\/p>\n<p>The article continues:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Consider first Francis\u2019s behavior at the security barrier.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Reasonable people disagree about the contribution the security fence makes to the security of Israelis. But no one can reasonably doubt that it was built to protect Israelis from <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Palestinian political violence\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Palestinian_political_violence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Palestinian terrorist<\/a> murderers. And Francis ought to know this. Francis\u2019s decision to hold a photo-op at the security barrier was an act of extreme hostility against Israel and the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Jews\" href=\"http:\/\/www.worldjewishcongress.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Jewish people<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">As the former Cardinal of Buenos Aires, Francis may have heard of the November 2002 massacre at Kibbutz <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Metzer\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=32.4417944444,35.0435472222&amp;spn=0.1,0.1&amp;q=32.4417944444,35.0435472222 (Metzer)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Metzer<\/a>. Metzer was founded by Argentine communists in the 1950s. Metzer is located 500 meters from the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Green Line (Israel)\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=31.42398,34.89258&amp;spn=1.0,1.0&amp;q=31.42398,34.89258 (Green%20Line%20%28Israel%29)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">1949 armistice lines<\/a> which made it an obvious beneficiary of the security fence. But true to its radical roots, in 2002 members of the kibbutz waged a public campaign against the planned route of the security fence. They feared that it would, in the words of Metzer member Danny Dovrat, \u201cignite hostility and create problems\u201d with the kibbutz\u2019s Palestinian neighbors.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Thanks to that concern, on the night of November 10, 2002, a gunman from the \u201cmoderate\u201d US- and EU-supported Fatah terror organization faced no physical obstacle when he entered the kibbutz. Once there he killed two people on the street and then entered the home of Revital Ohayon and executed Revital and her two sons, Matan, 5, and Noam, 4 years old.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Fatah praised the attack on its website and pledged to conduct more assaults on \u201cZionist colonizers,\u201d and promised to continue \u201ctargeting their children as well.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Catholic Church\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Catholic_Church\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Catholic Church<\/a> does not have a good record in supporting Israel or the Jewish people.
