The NC Legislative Study Committee on Common Core has recommended a repeal<\/a> and replace piece of draft legislation that will be up for a vote in the short session of the General Assembly.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Obviously, this has the proponents of nationalized education digging in their heels with all sorts of dooms day scenarios that a repeal would cause.\u00a0 The Big Business, Big Government<\/a> and Chamber of Commerce<\/a> advocates are spending allot of money on radio and TV advertising<\/a>, trying to build public support to put pressure on legislators not to repeal Common Core.\u00a0 Since this is an election year, money talks. \u00a0There are two sides to every issue, and the compliant, and complacent Media has made it difficult to get the opposition opinion out. \u00a0I pray that our legislators have done their own homework and will support the repeal of Common Core in NC.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Common Core is copyrighted, it cannot be altered by state or local school authorities.\u00a0 The schools can Add 15% content, however, they will not be tested on that content.\u00a0 Cursive writing is an example of what NC has \u201cadded\u201d that is being used to demonstrate how \u201cflexible\u201d these standards are.\u00a0 The combination of taxpayer-funded bribes, ( like Race to the Top<\/a> and No Child Left Behind<\/a> waivers), outright deception (like globally benchmarked standards that has yet to be seen, or proven) and rampant bullying by the Educrats leaving most teachers fearing retaliation for complaining, is truly alarming.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Sandra Stotsky (member of the standards committee that wouldn\u2019t \u201csign off\u201d on them) has stated that the texts and analysis are used to guide students\u2019 thinking toward a pre- determined outcome.\u00a0\u00a0 The new buzz word<\/a> will be consensus, and building towards a global community.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
