The Foundry<\/a> at Heritage.org posted a story yesterday (with a video) about the efforts of the Council on American-Islamic Relations<\/a> (CAIR) to block the showing of the movie \u201cHonor Diaries<\/a>\u201d from being shown on college campuses<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

Kelly last night questioned<\/a> CAIR Chicago<\/a> representative Agnieszka Karoluk on \u201cThe Kelly File\u201d about the group\u2019s opposition to \u201cHonor Diaries<\/a>,\u201d \u00a0a documentary that addresses abuses \u00a0such as female genital mutilation<\/a>, forced marriages<\/a>, and the oppression of women in Muslim society<\/a> \u2013 what one commentator in the film calls \u201csystematic, institutionalized misogyny.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Karoluk, herself a Muslim<\/a> woman, said that although CAIR<\/a> \u00a0doesn\u2019t oppose raising awareness, the source of funding for the film, the Clarion Project, is \u201cIslamophobic<\/a>.\u201d \u00a0The film\u2019s backers, she said, \u201cuse it to promote their own hate-filled agenda.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

…Kelly also spoke<\/a> Monday night<\/a> about the film. The documentary, she reported, features \u201ca diverse group of women with different faiths, backgrounds, and nationalities, all of them focused on promoting women\u2019s rights, especially in countries where women and girls are often subjected to something known as honor violence<\/a>.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is nothing hate-filled about showing a film that reveals the abuses of women under Islam<\/a>. There is everything hate-filled about trying to prevent people from learning about those abuses.<\/p>\n
