{"id":2236,"date":"2010-09-15T13:00:19","date_gmt":"2010-09-15T13:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=2236"},"modified":"2010-09-15T13:00:19","modified_gmt":"2010-09-15T13:00:19","slug":"under_the_radar_in_the_massach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=2236","title":{"rendered":"Under The Radar In The Massachusetts Primary Election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bostonherald.com\/news\/politics\/view\/20100914jeff_perry_republican_winner_in_10th_district\/srvc=home&amp;position=1\">Boston Herald<\/a>&nbsp;posted a story on a primary election victory by Republican Jeffrey Perry, who will be facing Democrat William Keating&nbsp;in the race for the seat being vacated by U.S. Representative William Delahunt (Tenth Congressional District in Massachusetts).<\/p>\n<p>Representative William Delahunt&nbsp;decided not to seek re-election after a controversy arose over his handling of the shooting case involving Amy Fisher while serving as the Norfolk County District Attorney.&nbsp; The Republicans have targeted that seat for a pick-up, so the race will receive a lot of press.&nbsp; Jeff Perry received 61% of the vote in a field of four candidates.<\/p>\n<p>However, Massachusetts is not a reliable Democrat state right now.&nbsp; People are angry at the people in Washington who don&#8217;t seem to be listening to them&#8211;both parties are angry with their representatives, and anything could happen in November.<\/p>\n<p>There were a few other victories in the Massachusetts primaries last night that bear watching.&nbsp; In the Fourth Congressional District (seat now held by Barney Frank), Sean Bielat received 60% of the votes in the Republican primary.&nbsp; In the Third Congressional District, newcomer to politics Marty Lamb received 31% of the votes in a five-candidate field.&nbsp; He will run against Jim McGovern.<\/p>\n<p>Everything is Massachusetts has changed since the election of Scott Brown.&nbsp; November is going to be interesting.&nbsp; Neither Democrats or Republicans can afford to take anything for granted!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Boston Herald&nbsp;posted a story on a primary election victory by Republican Jeffrey Perry, who will be facing Democrat William Keating&nbsp;in the race for the seat being vacated by U.S. Representative William Delahunt (Tenth Congressional District in Massachusetts).
