It just seems as if there is an awful lot we just don&#8217;t know.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"John H. Hinderaker\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_H._Hinderaker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">John Hinderaker<\/a> at<a href=\"http:\/\/www.powerlineblog.com\/archives\/2014\/03\/bombshell-revelation-deepens-mystery-of-flight-370.php\" target=\"_blank\"> Power Line<\/a> posted an article today that throws a whole new light on the mystery. It seems that the two Rolls Royce <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Engine\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Engine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">engines<\/a> on the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Fixed-wing aircraft\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fixed-wing_aircraft\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">airplane<\/a> automatically transmitted data to Rolls Royce, on the ground, at 30 minute intervals.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>It has <a href=\"http:\/\/m.us.wsj.com\/articles\/SB10001424052702304914904579434653903086282?mobile=y\">now been revealed<\/a> by <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667 (United%20States)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">American<\/a> investigators that, according to Rolls Royce, the engines\u2019 transmissions continued for four hours after the airplane disappeared. The pilot(s) or hijackers could have, and apparently did, turn off the plane\u2019s transponder, but they couldn\u2019t turn off, and likely didn\u2019t even know about, the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Automatic transmission\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Automatic_transmission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">automatic transmission<\/a> of data from the engines to Rolls Royce.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>In four hours, depending on air speed, the plane could have flown just about anywhere\u2013even, potentially, to <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Pakistan\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=33.6666666667,73.1666666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=33.6666666667,73.1666666667 (Pakistan)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Pakistan<\/a>. While the mystery remains impenetrable for the time being, it is no longer a safe assumption that the airplane crashed at all. No one, presumably, would hijack or divert an airplane, fly it for four hours undetected, only to ultimately crash it into the sea. Not on purpose, anyway.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Somewhere there is a deserted airfield with a very large plane sitting on it. However, even that explanation makes no sense.
