A law was passed at the end of last year that required certain gun owners to register their weapons with the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Connecticut\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=41.6,-72.7&amp;spn=1.0,1.0&amp;q=41.6,-72.7 (Connecticut)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">State of Connecticut<\/a> by December 31, 2013. Many gun owners simply did not register their guns. Others sent their applications in late or their applications were delivered late. Those people recently received a letter from the state:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/CT-Assualt-Weapon-Letter.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/CT-Assualt-Weapon-Letter.jpg\" width=\"548\" height=\"667\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The long and short of it it&#8211;if you missed the deadline, we will take your weapon away.<\/p>\n<p>The article states:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.journalinquirer.com\/politics_and_government\/one-more-chance-for-gun-owners\/article_2d8f816a-9d93-11e3-b18e-0019bb2963f4.html\" target=\"_blank\">Journal Inquirer<\/a>, 106 rifle owners and 108 \u2018<a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Magazine (firearms)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Magazine_%28firearms%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">large capacity magazine<\/a>\u2019 owners in Connecticut\u00a0were recently sent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/CT-Assualt-Weapon-Letter.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">letters<\/a> from the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"State police\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/State_police\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">state police<\/a> advising them that they had missed the deadline for registering their now-illicit firearms and accessories.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The state knew these individuals had these items because their registration applications were sent in, but postmarked too late to be processed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This should be a wake-up call for anyone who doesn&#8217;t see gun registration as the beginning step of gun confiscation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"zemanta-pixie\" style=\"margin-top: 10px; height: 15px;\"><a class=\"zemanta-pixie-a\" title=\"Enhanced by Zemanta\" href=\"http:\/\/www.zemanta.com\/?px\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"zemanta-pixie-img\" style=\"border: none; float: right;\" alt=\"Enhanced by Zemanta\" src=\"http:\/\/img.zemanta.com\/zemified_h.png?x-id=5425a221-6564-45ca-93f4-88e5327f1624\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday Guns.com posted a story detailing the latest chapter in Connecticut&#8217;s war on gun owners.
