{"id":21719,"date":"2014-01-28T20:17:28","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T01:17:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=21719"},"modified":"2014-01-28T20:17:28","modified_gmt":"2014-01-29T01:17:28","slug":"a-reasonable-alternative-to-obamacare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=21719","title":{"rendered":"A Reasonable Alternative To ObamaCare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/theapothecary\/2014\/01\/27\/senate-republicans-develop-the-most-credible-plan-yet-to-repeal-and-replace-obamacare\/\">Forbes<\/a> posted an article about the <b>Coburn-Burr-Hatch (CBH)<\/b> proposal called the Patient Choice, Affordability, Responsibility, and Empowerment Act.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>CBH would repeal Obamacare, and replace it with a set of more <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Market economy\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Market_economy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">market-oriented<\/a> reforms. One key point right at the start: the authors \u201cbelieve our proposal is roughly budget neutral over a decade.\u201d That is to say, for all the reconfiguring it does to the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Health system\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Health_system\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">health-care system<\/a>, it doesn\u2019t substantially reduce the deficit. It may modestly reduce the amount of federal spending and taxation. The <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Senate\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8905555556,-77.0088888889&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=38.8905555556,-77.0088888889 (United%20States%20Senate)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Senate<\/a> trio aims to have their proposal fiscally scored by an outside group of economists, most likely <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Douglas Holtz-Eakin\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Douglas_Holtz-Eakin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Doug Holtz-Eakin<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/healthandeconomy.org\/about\/faq\/\">Center for Health and Economy<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposal includes a lot of aspects of <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Patient_Protection_and_Affordable_Care_Act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">ObamaCare<\/a> that are popular, but it includes some common sense changes that will make ObamaCare much less of a burden on the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667 (United%20States)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">American<\/a> taxpayer. The proposal encourages <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Tort reform\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tort_reform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">tort reform<\/a>, it makes changes to the tax exclusion for employer-sponsored coverage in order to subsidize policies for the uninsured.<\/p>\n<p>Please follow the above link to the article to see the details.
