The judges said they &#8220;reverse the judgments of the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Trial court\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Trial_court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">trial court<\/a>&#8221; and acquit DeLay, once one of the most powerful Republicans in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Congress\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8897222222,-77.0088888889&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=38.8897222222,-77.0088888889 (United%20States%20Congress)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Congress<\/a>, of all charges.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Acquittal\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Acquittal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">acquittal<\/a> means DeLay cannot be retried and the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Money laundering\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Money_laundering\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">money laundering<\/a> case is over.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This case has been a sham from the beginning. Tom Delay was a very successful House majority leader, and the Democrats worked very hard to remove him from office.
