{"id":20241,"date":"2013-08-26T09:44:46","date_gmt":"2013-08-26T13:44:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=20241"},"modified":"2013-08-26T09:44:46","modified_gmt":"2013-08-26T13:44:46","slug":"something-to-consider-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=20241","title":{"rendered":"Something To Consider"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I really haven&#8217;t made up my mind as to whether or not it is better to defund <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Patient_Protection_and_Affordable_Care_Act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">ObamaCare<\/a> or simply delay it. The danger of defunding it is that if that causes a <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Government shutdown\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Government_shutdown\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">government shutdown<\/a>, the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Democratic Party (United States)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.democrats.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Democrats<\/a> have a perfect opportunity to change the subject. If Democrats successfully change the subject, they win, ObamaCare goes into effect, and all <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667 (United%20States)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Americans<\/a> lose a great deal of both their freedom and their money.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.heritage.org\/2013\/08\/26\/morning-bell-should-we-delay-or-defund-obamacare\/\">Heritage Foundation<\/a> posted an article today explaining why they believe it is better to defund ObamaCare than to delay it. The article points out that ObamaCare is &#8220;a massive, government-centered restructuring of <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Health care in the United States\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Health_care_in_the_United_States\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">American health care<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The article lists some of the problems with simply delaying ObamaCare:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Simply delaying Obamacare: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u2026doesn\u2019t stop Obamacare from harming people. Regulators could continue to enforce the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.heritage.org\/2013\/05\/25\/obamacares-liberty-crushing-mandate-in-court\/\">Health and Human Services (HHS) anti-conscience mandate<\/a> and issue new Obamacare rules that raise costs and premiums for struggling <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redstate.com\/2013\/08\/21\/delta-airlines-and-the-100-million-costs-of-obamacare\/\">businesses<\/a> and families alike.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u2026is a gift to the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Presidency of Barack Obama\" href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Obama Administration<\/a>. Federal bureaucrats have missed nearly half of their self-imposed deadlines to get the law up and running. Why provide them more time to make sure thousands of regulations are entrenched in the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Private healthcare\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Private_healthcare\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">private health care<\/a> sector?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u2026doesn\u2019t stop Obamacare programs from launching. A <a href=\"http:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/thf_media\/2010\/pdf\/042110_Health_Law_Timeline.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">53-page Obamacare timeline<\/a> shows that in 2014 alone, 27 separate Obamacare programs and requirements are scheduled to take effect.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the article, Heritage\u2019s senior <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Policy analysis\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Policy_analysis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">policy analyst<\/a> Chris Jacobs explains that defunding ObamaCare should not cause a government shutdown. He points out that conservatives do not want to shut down the government, they simply want to defund ObamaCare. My problem with that is my belief that the Democrat party will not allow the Republican party to defund ObamaCare without shutting down the government. Considering the bias in the American media, there is no way the Democrats would have to take responsibility for shutting down the government&#8211;the Republicans would be blamed.<\/p>\n<p>I agree that ObamaCare needs to be stopped immediately. I am just not sure it can be done by Republicans who control one part of one branch of our government.
