{"id":20207,"date":"2013-08-21T20:50:18","date_gmt":"2013-08-22T00:50:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=20207"},"modified":"2013-08-21T20:50:18","modified_gmt":"2013-08-22T00:50:18","slug":"some-oddities-in-the-unemployment-numbers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=20207","title":{"rendered":"Some Oddities In The Unemployment Numbers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/Big-Government\/2013\/08\/21\/Gallup-Unemployment-jumped-from-77-to-89\">Breitbart.com<\/a> reported today that the the unemployment numbers reported by the Gallop <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Opinion poll\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Opinion_poll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">polling organization<\/a> jumped from 7.7% on July 21 to 8.9% today.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>At the end of July, the BLS showed a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/Big-Government\/2013\/08\/02\/US-employers-add-162K-jobs--rate-falls-to-74-pct\">7.4% unemployment rate<\/a>, compared to <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Gallup (company)\" href=\"http:\/\/gallup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Gallup<\/a>&#8216;s 7.8%. Again, a difference not worthy of note. But Gallup&#8217;s upward trend to almost 9% in just the last three weeks is alarming, especially because this is not a poll with a history of wild swings due to statistical anomalies. Gallup&#8217;s <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Sample size determination\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sample_size_determination\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">sample size<\/a> is a massive 30,000 adults and the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Moving average\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Moving_average\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">rolling average<\/a> is taken over a full 30 day period.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Gallup also shows an alarming increase in the number of underemployed (those with some work seeking more).
