{"id":18924,"date":"2013-05-25T08:31:00","date_gmt":"2013-05-25T12:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=18924"},"modified":"2013-05-25T08:31:38","modified_gmt":"2013-05-25T12:31:38","slug":"answering-questions-by-not-answering-questions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=18924","title":{"rendered":"Answering Questions By Not Answering Questions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday, Representative John Campbell posted an article in his l<a href=\"http:\/\/www.campbell.house.gov\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=category&amp;layout=blog&amp;id=38&amp;Itemid=73\">aptop report<\/a> about his questioning of <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Secretary of the Treasury\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_Secretary_of_the_Treasury\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Treasury Secretary<\/a> (and former Obama Chief of Staff) <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Jack Lew\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jack_Lew\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Jack Lew<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Below is a video of that questioning:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8wNvT03UhAY\" height=\"279\" width=\"479\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Representative Campbell was a successful businessman before entering <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Congress\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8897222222,-77.0088888889&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=38.8897222222,-77.0088888889 (United%20States%20Congress)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Congress<\/a> and has the ability to get things done. He was obviously not impressed with the answers he received from Secretary Lew.<\/p>\n<p>Representative Campbell posted the following parody on his laptop report:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Now, based on what you just saw from Sec. Jack Lew (and from my previous experience with him), I present for your further enjoyment a <em>fictional dramatization<\/em><em> <\/em>of my <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Thought experiment\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Thought_experiment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">hypothetical question<\/a> to him, \u201cIs the sky ever blue?\u201d:<br \/>\n___________________<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Campbell:<\/strong> So, Secretary Lew, is the sky ever blue?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Lew: <\/strong>Well, <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Member of Congress\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Member_of_Congress\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Congressman<\/a>, that depends. Sometime there are clouds. The clouds can be light grey or&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Campbell:<\/strong> I understand that there can be clouds, Secretary Lew. My question is if you believe that the sky is <em>ever<\/em> blue?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Lew:<\/strong> This is really quite complicated. Sometime it can be dark at night and you can\u2019t really tell what <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Color\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Color\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">color<\/a> the sky is. Is it really black or another color that you can\u2019t see? It could be\u2026.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Campbell:<\/strong> No Mr. Lew. I didn\u2019t ask if the sky was black. I asked if it is ever blue. Have you ever seen a blue sky?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Lew:<\/strong> I have never had anything to do with the color of the sky, either as Treasury Secretary or as <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Barack Obama\" href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">President Obama\u2019s<\/a> Chief of Staff. But, I assure you that the President is very interested in this subject and we intend to investigate this thoroughly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Campbell:<\/strong> Secretary Lew. It\u2019s really not that complicated. Have you ever seen a blue sky or has anyone ever told you that the sky was blue?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Lew:<\/strong> It\u2019s important that we thoroughly investigate all the facts before conclusions are drawn in any such matter involving celestial bodies and the movement thereof. The latest report from the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Inspector General\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Inspector_General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Inspector General<\/a> did not contain any facts about the color of the sky, although it did acknowledge that the sky, in fact, exists. Therefore, it would be premature for me to make any assertions about the color until all the facts are in. But, I assure you that we will work tirelessly in pursuit of those facts&#8230;just as diligently as OJ Simpson pursued the real killer of his wife.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Campbell:<\/strong>\u00a0 How about this, Mr. Secretary? Have you personally ever even wondered what color the sky is?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Lew: <\/strong>I don\u2019t think it\u2019s productive to speculate on such things over which the administration has no control and which, at this point, really don\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Campbell:<\/strong> Mr. <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Chairman\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chairman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Chairman<\/a>, I yield back the balance of my time since the Secretary has clearly yielded his common sense.<\/p>\n<p>That is the current state of the search for answers in the power abuse by the Internal Revenue Service&#8217;s targeting of conservatives and conservative groups.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"zemanta-pixie\" style=\"margin-top: 10px; height: 15px;\"><a class=\"zemanta-pixie-a\" title=\"Enhanced by Zemanta\" href=\"http:\/\/www.zemanta.com\/?px\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"zemanta-pixie-img\" style=\"border: none; float: right;\" alt=\"Enhanced by Zemanta\" src=\"http:\/\/img.zemanta.com\/zemified_e.png?x-id=6101ce33-7060-42db-8cfb-0215435abba2\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday, Representative John Campbell posted an article in his laptop report about his questioning of Treasury Secretary (and former Obama Chief of Staff) Jack Lew.
