{"id":18456,"date":"2013-04-18T09:09:00","date_gmt":"2013-04-18T13:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=18456"},"modified":"2013-04-18T09:10:27","modified_gmt":"2013-04-18T13:10:27","slug":"the-temper-tantrum-in-the-rose-garden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=18456","title":{"rendered":"The Temper Tantrum In The Rose Garden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes it is more difficult than others to be kind to people when they act like <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Spoiled child\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Spoiled_child\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">spoiled brats<\/a>. <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Barack Obama\" href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">President Obama<\/a> lined up all the people he could find to use as props as he blamed the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Gun politics\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gun_politics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">gun lobby<\/a> for the fact that Congress upheld the Second Amendment. Thank God for the gun lobby. At some point, the President and all his allies in this need to realize that the problem is not guns&#8211;it&#8217;s the people who illegally use them. There was not one thing in the legislation that was proposed that would have prevented what happened at <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Newtown Public Schools\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=41.414,-73.2758&amp;spn=1.0,1.0&amp;q=41.414,-73.2758 (Newtown%20Public%20Schools)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Sandy Hook Elementary School<\/a>. Unfortunately, criminals and mentally disturbed people do not tend to obey gun laws.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"The Wall Street Journal\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wsj.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a> posted an article yesterday reminding us where the anti-gun legislation failed&#8211;in the Democrat Senate&#8211;not the Republican House of Representatives.\u00a0 The article also mentions the four Democrat Senators who voted against expanded background checks&#8211;Max Baucus (Mont.), Mark Begich (Alaska), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.) and Mark Pryor (Ark.).<\/p>\n<p>The article concludes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The rout also vindicates Republicans who wanted the Senate to vote on the gun bill as opposed to the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Rand Paul\" href=\"http:\/\/paul.senate.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Rand Paul<\/a>&#8211;<a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Ted Cruz\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tedcruz.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Ted Cruz<\/a> faction who sought a filibuster. For once <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Democratic Party (United States)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.democrats.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Democrats<\/a> had to declare themselves in public and couldn&#8217;t hide behind shouts of &#8220;Republican obstructionism.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>So much for the first big liberal hope of Mr. Obama&#8217;s second term.
