{"id":17595,"date":"2013-02-20T20:14:49","date_gmt":"2013-02-21T01:14:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=17595"},"modified":"2013-02-20T20:14:49","modified_gmt":"2013-02-21T01:14:49","slug":"while-the-news-media-is-focused-on-sequestration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=17595","title":{"rendered":"While The News Media Is Focused On Sequestration&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/Big-Government\/2013\/02\/20\/With-Election-Over-Obama-Announces-Medicare-Cuts-To-Fund-ObamaCare\">Breitbart.com<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>In an announcement on Friday, however, the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Obama administration\" href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/world\/obama-administration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Obama administration<\/a> revealed that it would be significantly reducing funding for <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Medicare (United States)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Medicare_%28United_States%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Medicare<\/a>, a move that one <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Health insurance\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Health_insurance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">health insurance<\/a> analyst <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/aroy\/2013\/02\/19\/here-comes-the-boom-cms-slashes-medicare-advantage-disarray-for-many-seniors\/\">said<\/a> \u201cwould turn almost every plan in the industry unprofitable.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>&#8230;According to Richard Foster, former chief <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Actuary\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Actuary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">actuary<\/a> to the Medicare program, <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Patient_Protection_and_Affordable_Care_Act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">ObamaCare<\/a>\u2019s cuts to Medicare Advantage will likely force half of its current participants back into the old Medicare program, originated in 1965. It is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/aroy\/2012\/08\/16\/fact-checking-the-obama-campaigns-defense-of-its-716-billion-cut-to-medicare\/\">estimated<\/a> that this change will cost Medicare enrollees an average of $3,714 in 2017 alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On July 14, 2012, I posted an article (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=14657\">rightwinggranny.com<\/a>) explaining that the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Presidency of Barack Obama\" href=\"http:\/\/whitehouse.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Obama Administration<\/a> had launched an $8.35 billion \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.weeklystandard.com\/articles\/obama-s-senior-swindle_642177.html?nopager=1\">demonstration project<\/a>\u201d to delay Obamacare cuts to the Medicare Advantage program until after the 2012 election. This was to prevent seniors who were not paying attention from seeing what was actually happening.<\/p>\n<p>To those of us that have followed Obamacare from the start, the cutting of Medicare is not a surprise. The people who were behind Obamacare were known to hold the belief that the group of people the government should spend the majority of their <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Health care\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Health_care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">healthcare<\/a> dollars on are those between twenty and forty&#8211;the most productive years. There was a philosophy that the younger and older members of society were not contributing as much as the group between the ages of twenty and forty, and therefore were not entitled to the same quality of healthcare. That is one of many reasons why Medicare is being cut and <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Medicaid\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Medicaid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Medicaid<\/a> is being increased. One of the other reasons is to <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Redistribution of wealth\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Redistribution_of_wealth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">redistribute wealth<\/a> in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=38.8833333333,-77.0166666667 (United%20States)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">America<\/a>.
