Meanwhile, <a href=\"http:\/\/jobs.aol.com\/articles\/2013\/02\/01\/unemployment-jobless-january-jobs-report\/\">aol.com<\/a> reports that 157,000 new jobs were added in January 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The article at aol.com reported:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Federal Reserve System\" href=\"http:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Federal Reserve<\/a> officials said on Wednesday that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/newsevents\/press\/monetary\/20130130a.htm\" target=\"_blank\">economic activity had &#8220;paused,&#8221;<\/a> but they signaled optimism the recovery would regain speed with continued <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Monetary policy\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Monetary_policy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">monetary policy<\/a> support. The Fed left in place a monthly $85 billion bond-buying <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/American_Recovery_and_Reinvestment_Act_of_2009\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">stimulus plan<\/a>. Economists polled by <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Reuters\" href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Reuters<\/a> had expected employers to add 160,000 jobs and the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Unemployment\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Unemployment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">unemployment rate<\/a> to hold steady at 7.8 percent last month.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>&#8230;Job growth in 2012 averaged 181,000 a month, but not enough to significantly reduce unemployment. Economists say employment gains in excess of 250,000 a month over a sustained period are needed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are losing jobs as fast as we are gaining them.
