{"id":1716,"date":"2010-03-23T06:41:07","date_gmt":"2010-03-23T06:41:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1716"},"modified":"2010-03-23T06:41:07","modified_gmt":"2010-03-23T06:41:07","slug":"misplaced_compassion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1716","title":{"rendered":"Misplaced Compassion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/story\/0,2933,589769,00.html?test=latestnews\">Fox News<\/a>&nbsp;reported that a federal judge has ordered the release of Mohamedou Ould Slahi, a man named by the 9\/11 Commission as a recruiter for Al Qaeda who helped put together the team&nbsp;who carried out&nbsp;the attacks on September 11, 2001.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>The article states:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p _extended=\"true\" itxtvisited=\"1\"><em>&#8220;Military prosecutors suspected Slahi of links to other Al Qaeda operations, and considered seeking the death penalty against him while preparing possible charges in 2003 and 2004.<\/em><\/p>\n<p _extended=\"true\" itxtvisited=\"1\"><em>&#8220;U.S. District Judge James Robertson granted Slahi&#8217;s petition for habeas corpus, effectively finding the government lacked legal grounds to hold him.
