Today’s New York Post<\/a> is reporting that the four State Department<\/a> officials who resigned in the wake of the Benghazi<\/a> attacks really didn’t resign–one has a new job and the other three took a short leave of absence.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland<\/a> said that Secretary of State<\/a> Hillary Rodham Clinton<\/a> \u201chas accepted Eric Boswell\u2019s decision to resign as assistant secretary for diplomatic security, effective immediately.\u201d What Nuland omitted was that Boswell gave up only the presidential appointment as assistant secretary, not his other portfolios.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The other officials \u2014 Deputy Assistant Secretaries<\/a> Charlene Lamb and Raymond Maxwell, and a third who has not been identified \u2014 were found to have shown \u201cperformance inadequacies\u201d but not \u201cwillful misconduct,\u201d Pickering said, so they would not face discipline.<\/strong><\/p>\n
