{"id":1672,"date":"2010-03-06T10:11:19","date_gmt":"2010-03-06T10:11:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1672"},"modified":"2010-03-06T10:11:19","modified_gmt":"2010-03-06T10:11:19","slug":"green_energy_is_not_always_wha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1672","title":{"rendered":"Green Energy Is Not Always What It Seems To Be"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, <a href=\"http:\/\/planetgore.nationalreview.com\/post\/?q=NDM1Y2FhODcyZDUyMjg4MjgyYjhmYzdjM2VlODk4MTg=\">National Review Online<\/a>,&nbsp;at its Planet Gore blog, posted a story about a solar energy farm in Indiantown, Florida.&nbsp;&nbsp; The solar energy farm sits next to a natural gas plant.&nbsp; The natural gas plant covers 15 acres of land and generates 3,800 megawatts of reliable electricity.&nbsp; The solar energy farm covers 500 acres and generates 75 megawatts of electricity at its peak.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>The article points out:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p><em>&#8220;At $476 million (the cost of the solar project), it also means that building a 1000-MW solar array &#8212; the size of an average coal or nuclear plant &#8212; would cost $5 billion, putting it right up there with the most expensive reactors and coal plants with carbon capture.
