{"id":1621,"date":"2010-02-16T15:03:50","date_gmt":"2010-02-16T15:03:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1621"},"modified":"2010-02-16T15:03:50","modified_gmt":"2010-02-16T15:03:50","slug":"reaching_the_goal_of_energy_in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1621","title":{"rendered":"Reaching The Goal Of Energy Independence And Prosperity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/e2-wire\/677-e2-wire\/81091-oil-and-gas-drilling-bans-will-cut-gdp-by-236-trillion-report\">The Hill<\/a>&nbsp;posted an article on the cost of the offshore oil drilling ban.&nbsp; A recently released report by the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and the Gas Technology Institute (GTI) states that U.S. oil-and-gas drilling bans will increase consumer energy costs and decrease cumulative U.S. GDP by $2.36 trillion over the next two decades.<\/p>\n<p>The report was&nbsp;commissioned by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>The article points out:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p><em>&#8220;The Consumer Energy Alliance, which counts energy companies among its funders, highlighted the findings today.
