One of the problems with the Obama Administration’s foreign policy is that for the past three years it seems as if we have watched our country reward our enemies and dis our friends. It’s getting worse–particularly in the case of our friend Israel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Blaze<\/a> reported yesterday that a planned U. S. and Israel joint military exercise<\/a> has been greatly scaled back.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

Instead of the approximately 5,000 U.S. troops originally trumpeted for Austere Challenge 12\u2026the Pentagon<\/a> will send only 1,500 service members, and perhaps as few as 1,200.\u00a0 Patriot anti-missile systems will arrive in Israel as planned, but the crews to operate them will not.\u00a0 Instead of two Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense<\/a> warships being dispatched to Israeli waters, the new plan is to send one, though even the remaining vessel is listed as a \u201cmaybe,\u201d according to officials in both militaries.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBasically what the Americans<\/a> are saying is, \u2018We don\u2019t trust you,\u2019\u201d a unnamed senior Israeli military official told Time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The U. S. of course is denying that it is a matter of trust. It really does not matter what the actual reason is–this is no way to treat our allies.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Breitbart.com<\/a> is reporting:<\/p>\n

Gen. Martin Dempsey<\/a>, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff<\/a> of U.S. armed forces<\/a>, said<\/a> on Thursday that he does not wish to be \u201ccomplicit\u201d in any Israeli strike on Iran<\/a>.<\/h2>\n

…We compare intelligence, we discuss regional implications, and we’ve admitted to each other that our clocks are turning at different rates \u2026 Israel is living with an existential concern that we are not living with.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dempsey then said that he didn\u2019t know Iran\u2019s nuclear intentions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That’s the same kind of thinking that gave Hitler Czechoslovakia.<\/p>\n
