Harry Reid was a law student who worked part time to put himself through law school. He has been a <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Civil service\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Civil_service\" rel=\"wikipedia\" target=\"_blank\">public servant<\/a> for all be two years of his work history. His current salary is $193,400, basically higher than it has been during his working life. Harry Reid&#8217;s current <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Net worth\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Net_worth\" rel=\"wikipedia\" target=\"_blank\">net worth<\/a> is between 3 and 10 million dollars. Obviously, this man is an investment genius&#8211;he should be on <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Wall Street\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=40.7063888889,-74.0094444444&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=40.7063888889,-74.0094444444%20%28Wall%20Street%29&amp;t=h\" rel=\"geolocation\" target=\"_blank\">Wall Street<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When Harry Reid began his career in the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Nevada Legislature\" href=\"http:\/\/www.leg.state.nv.us\" rel=\"homepage\" target=\"_blank\">Nevada legislature<\/a> in 1982, he was worth between 1 and 1 1\/2 million dollars.<\/p>\n<p>The article at National Review details some of Senator Reid&#8217;s strategies for acquiring wealth. They involve such things as questionable land deals and insider <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Stock trader\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stock_trader\" rel=\"wikipedia\" target=\"_blank\">stock trading<\/a>. The land deals are clearly at the edge of legality; the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Insider trading\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Insider_trading\" rel=\"wikipedia\" target=\"_blank\">insider trading<\/a>, although legal at the time for <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Congress\" href=\"http:\/\/www.house.gov\/\" rel=\"homepage\" target=\"_blank\">Congress<\/a>, is now illegal.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrats have attacked <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Willard Mitt Romney\" href=\"http:\/\/www.biography.com\/people\/mitt-romney-241055\" rel=\"biographycom\" target=\"_blank\">Mitt Romney<\/a> for being rich. He has been accused of everything from soup to nuts. However, no one is disputing the fact that he made his money honestly through hard work and intelligence. It is also to his credit that he started from scratch&#8211;he did not inherit his father&#8217;s wealth.
