Today’s Weekly Standard<\/a> posted an article about President Obama’s<\/a> recent claim that an independent, non-partisan organization ran all the numbers on Governor Romney<\/a>\u2019s plan and concluded that any revenue-neutral individual income tax<\/a> change that incorporates the features Governor Romney has proposed would provide large tax cuts to high-income households, and increase the tax burdens on middle- and\/or lower-income taxpayers<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but as Senator Moynihan used to say, “\u201cEveryone<\/em> is entitled to his own<\/em> opinion, but not<\/em> to his own facts<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d Let’s take a look at this non-partisan, independent study. It was done by Samuel Brown, William Gale<\/a>, and Adam Looney.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

As Looney’s biography page at the Brookings Institution<\/a> states, “Looney was the senior economist for public finance and tax policy with the President\u2019s Council of Economic Advisers<\/a> and has been an economist at the Federal Reserve Board<\/a>.”<\/strong><\/p>\n
