It&#8217;s good to start the day with something happy before we have to deal with reality! Yesterday <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/stories\/texas-man-finds-his-stolen-car-on-ebay-42-years-after-its-theft\/\">The Blaze<\/a>\u00a0reported that a man who had his sports car stolen from in front on his home in Philadelphia in 1970 has gotten his car back.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"il_fi\" src=\"http:\/\/www.americanconcours.org\/Portals\/0\/Austin-Healey\/1967%20Austin%20Healey%20BJ8%207334.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"543\" height=\"362\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Robert Russell has been keeping his eyes open when driving and scouring the Internet for the 1967 Austin Healy since it was stolen. He recently recovered his car after seeing it advertised on EBay.<\/p>\n<p>The article\u00a0at The Blaze tells\u00a0the story:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u201cEver since eBay showed up, I\u2019d check it periodically,\u201d Russell said. \u201cI checked it on Friday, May 11, and there it was.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>He immediately contacted the dealership, Beverly Hills Car Club, and informed them of the situation \u2014 bluntly too.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u201cI hate to sound indelicate,\u201d Russell told the dealer, \u201cbut you\u2019re selling a stolen car.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Russell, who now lives in Texas, then contacted the department in May and Detective Carlos Ortega tracked down the car in East Los Angeles.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u201cDetective Ortega located the stolen Austin Healey at the dealership listed in the eBay ad, and confirmed that the car was the same vehicle reported stolen by Mr. Russell,\u201d the department said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>After working with Philadelphia police to resolve vehicle identification issues, the department told Russell he could pick up his car.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wow!<\/p>\n<p>The article concludes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>While it is certainly a happy ending for Russell and his beloved car, the dealer who was duped into buying the stolen car is reportedly out $27,000 plus what it cost them to ship it to California.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is wonderful that Mr. Russell got his car back. The Internet can be a very useful tool!
