The President stated:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>I will be the first president in modern history to be\u00a0outspent\u00a0in his re-<a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Political campaign\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Political_campaign\" rel=\"wikipedia\" target=\"_blank\">election campaign<\/a>, if things continue as they have so far.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>I\u2019m not just talking about the super PACs and anonymous outside groups \u2014 I\u2019m talking about the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Mitt Romney presidential campaign, 2008\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mittromney.com\/\" rel=\"homepage\" target=\"_blank\">Romney campaign<\/a> itself. Those outside groups just add even more to the underlying problem.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The Romney campaign raises more than we do, and the math isn\u2019t hard to understand: Through the primaries, we raised almost three-quarters of our money from donors giving less than $1,000, while <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Mitt Romney\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mittromney.com\/\" rel=\"homepage\" target=\"_blank\">Mitt Romney<\/a>\u2019s campaign raised more than three-quarters of its money from individuals giving $1,000 or more\u2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The above statement is simply false, as the charts show.
