{"id":1444,"date":"2009-12-16T13:58:29","date_gmt":"2009-12-16T13:58:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1444"},"modified":"2009-12-16T13:58:29","modified_gmt":"2009-12-16T13:58:29","slug":"yesterdays_washington_examiner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1444","title":{"rendered":"A Picture (Or Graph) Is Worth A Thousand Words"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/blogs\/beltway-confidential\/Only-one-set-of-facts-for-Franken-and-he-picks-the-wrong-one-79348947.html\">Washington Examiner<\/a>&nbsp;published the graph below to illustrate how spending in the previous Senate version of the healthcare bill was set up.&nbsp; The curve in the current version is similar&#8211;nothing has changed very much.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"316\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/spectator.org\/assets\/mc\/Baucusbill.jpg\" width=\"501\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As you can see from the graph, the real spending does not begin until 2014&#8211;two years after the next presidential election.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>The article points out:<\/p>\n<blockquote dir=\"ltr\" style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\">\n<p>&nbsp;<em>&#8220;The Congressional Budget Office <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/cboblog.cbo.gov\/?p=426\" target=\"_blank\"><em>found<\/em><\/a><em> that just $9 billion of the $848 billion total spending aimed at expanding coverage from 2010 to 2019 would occur in the first four years, while the remaining $839 billion wouldn&#8217;t come until the last six.
