{"id":1363,"date":"2009-11-17T10:03:28","date_gmt":"2009-11-17T10:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1363"},"modified":"2009-11-17T10:03:28","modified_gmt":"2009-11-17T10:03:28","slug":"should_all_americans_be_requir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1363","title":{"rendered":"Should All Americans Be Required To Own Guns?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2009\/11\/16\/AR2009111602635.html\">Washington Post<\/a> posted an article with an interesting proposal.&nbsp; Al Home suggests that if Congress can pass a law to require all Americans to purchase health insurance, they should consider passing a law requiring all Americans to own guns.&nbsp; The article points out that in 2008 more than 250 million guns were owned by U.S. citizens.&nbsp; When President Obama was elected, there was a surge in gun sale, resulting in approximately 260 million guns in a population of nearly 309 million.&nbsp; The article concludes that there may be more than 100 million citizens left unprotected against their gun-owning fellow citizens.<\/p>\n<p>The article states:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>&#8220;Surely everyone can agree that this is an outrage. Moreover, it is an<br \/>\noutrage that Congress can easily fix, without months of committee<br \/>\nmeetings, town halls or tea parties.
