{"id":1349,"date":"2009-11-12T06:33:19","date_gmt":"2009-11-12T06:33:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1349"},"modified":"2009-11-12T06:33:19","modified_gmt":"2009-11-12T06:33:19","slug":"as_the_president_dithers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1349","title":{"rendered":"As The President Dithers&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This&nbsp;post is based on an Associated Press article posted at <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20091111\/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe\/us_veterans_day_the_injured\">Yahoo News<\/a>&nbsp;yesterday and an article posted at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/nation\/washington\/articles\/2009\/11\/11\/official_obama_wont_take_any_current_war_options\/?page=full\">Boston.com<\/a>&nbsp;yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The Associated Press article states that President Obama has decided not to accept any of the plans suggested so far on how to move ahead in the war in Afghanistan.&nbsp; He is looking for another option (as the war continues).&nbsp; The Boston.com article comments that the number of troops wounded in Aghanistan has increased dramatically.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>It has been more than two months since General McChrystal submitted his troop request and plan for winning the war in Afghanistan.&nbsp; General McChrystal is the General picked by President Obama to lead the war.&nbsp; General McChrystal is experienced and capable.&nbsp; It is a disgrace that an American general asks for reinforcements because he needs them and those reinforcements are delayed for months.&nbsp; Even if President Obama decides today to send the troops, there is still some time required to put the force together.&nbsp; We will eventually lose not only the war, but the trust of our allies if the President continues to dither.<\/p>\n<p>War does not provide the option of setting an end date.&nbsp; If the Generals in charge of World War II had looked at&nbsp;D-Day, the losses, the future&nbsp;prospects, and the French government at the time,&nbsp;and acted by reconsidering and delaying sending more troops, you would probably be reading this article in German.<\/p>\n<p>Strength against bullies works.&nbsp; The bullies in this case are the Taliban and Iran.&nbsp; If we choose not to stand up to them, we can expect the bullying to continue and we can expect eventually to be seriously impacted by that bullying.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This&nbsp;post is based on an Associated Press article posted at Yahoo News&nbsp;yesterday and an article posted at Boston.com&nbsp;yesterday.
