The Hill<\/a>\u00a0is reporting today that the Obama Administration has diverted\u00a0roughly $500 million to the IRS to help implement the president\u2019s healthcare law.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

The money is only part of the IRS\u2019s total implementation spending, and it is being provided outside the normal appropriations process. The tax agency is responsible for several key provisions of the new law, including the unpopular individual mandate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is very interesting to me that the money is being provided ‘outside the normal appropriations process.’<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Obamacare is under discussion at the Supreme Court. It is interesting to me that this donation to the IRS could not wait under the Supreme Court handed down its decision. Maybe I am becoming overly cynical in my old age, but I have the feeling that Obamacare is going to be implemented regardless of how the Supreme Court rules.<\/p>\n

The article further reports:<\/p>\n

The law contains dozens of targeted appropriations to implement specific provisions. It also gave the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) a $1 billion implementation fund, to use as it sees fit. Republicans have called it a \u201cslush fund.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

HHS plans to drain the entire fund by September \u2014 before the presidential election, and more than a year before most of the healthcare law takes effect. Roughly half of that money will ultimately go to the IRS.<\/strong><\/p>\n

HHS has transferred almost $200 million to the IRS over the past two years and plans to transfer more than $300 million this year, according to figures provided by a congressional aide.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are in serious danger of having our Constitution become a worthless piece of paper.<\/p>\n
