{"id":13005,"date":"2012-03-30T12:55:41","date_gmt":"2012-03-30T16:55:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=13005"},"modified":"2012-03-30T12:55:41","modified_gmt":"2012-03-30T16:55:41","slug":"obamacare-is-already-costing-americans-a-lot-of-money","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=13005","title":{"rendered":"Obamacare Is Already Costing Americans A Lot Of Money"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is a chart from the <a href=\"http:\/\/freebeacon.com\/obamacares-17-trillion-surprise\/\">Washington Free Beacon<\/a>\u00a0showing the financial impact of Obamacare even before it is completely put into effect:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/freebeacon.com\/obamacares-17-trillion-surprise\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"Obamacare's $17 trillion surprise\" src=\"http:\/\/freebeacon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/sessionsgraph.png\" alt=\"Obamacare's $17 trillion surprise\" width=\"423\" height=\"265\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Staff at the Senate Budget Committee, which calculated the figure using methods based on those used by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), found that total unfunded obligations for federal health care programs have jumped from $65 trillion in 2009 to $82 trillion in 2011.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Added to the government\u2019s existing obligation for entitlement programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, the total now comes to almost $100 trillion.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>That is almost seven times the United States\u2019 annual gross domestic product (GDP).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It seems to me that it is becoming very obvious that Obamacare will not save Americans any money. There are much better ways to do healthcare reform&#8211;tort reform, portability, risk pools for people with pre-existing conditions. All of these can be done without federal control.
