{"id":1256,"date":"2009-10-11T15:07:35","date_gmt":"2009-10-11T15:07:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1256"},"modified":"2009-10-11T15:07:35","modified_gmt":"2009-10-11T15:07:35","slug":"truth_as_comedy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=1256","title":{"rendered":"Truth As Comedy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jonah Goldberg at <a href=\"http:\/\/article.nationalreview.com\/?q=OWQwMWIyZDM2ZTg4MWUwZDEyZDVkMzAzYjMwOWEwODU=\">National Review Online<\/a>&nbsp;posted an article Friday commenting on the fact that CNN felt it necessary to fact check a Saturday Night Live skit regarding President Obama&#8217;s accomplisments in office.&nbsp; Huh?<\/p>\n<p>The skit had a fake President Obama listing his accomplishments as &#8216;jack&#8217; and &#8216;squat&#8217;.&nbsp; It was a funny skit.&nbsp; CNN chose to fact check the skit on Wolf Blitzer&#8217;s,<em>Situation Room.&nbsp; <\/em>Why?&nbsp; Were the skits depicting Sarah Palin as an idiot every fact checked on CNN?&nbsp; What about the skits involving George Bush or Bill Clinton (or my favorite&#8211;the Halloween skit involving Hillary, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and John Edwards (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hulu.com\/watch\/19048\/saturday-night-live-clinton-halloween-party\">Halloween 2007<\/a>).&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>The double standard involved in news coverage and now even in humor is ridiculous.&nbsp; It&#8217;s time for everyone to back up, take a deep breath, and make an honest effort to be fair.&nbsp; Is it possible?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jonah Goldberg at National Review Online&nbsp;posted an article Friday commenting on the fact that CNN felt it necessary to fact check a Saturday Night Live skit regarding President Obama&#8217;s accomplisments in office.&nbsp; Huh?
